Senior Sales Finance Analyst

The opportunity

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, the Senior Sales Finance Analyst is responsible for providing financial reporting and analysis to support the Bega Foods’ Sales team. Bega Foods is a business unit of Bega Cheese focused on selling and marketing brands including Vegemite, Bega Peanut Butter and Farmer’s Table. Acting as a key business partner to the Sales team, this role will enable better decision-making on future risks and opportunities facing the business and insightful analysis of past performance.

 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Preparation and review of monthly business forecasts including analysis of actual performance against budget and prior forecasts
  • Analysing the effectiveness of promotional spend and its impact on sales volume and profit margins
  • Assist with trade spend governance and ensure accurate reporting of all promotional activity
  • Being a key contributor to the Integrated Business Planning process providing support to the risk and opportunity review meetings, Demand Review meetings and Management Business Reviews
  • A strong understanding of the P&L and Balance Sheet in a commercial organisation is required, with clear communication of impacts and issues to the Sales and Management Team and an ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
  • Assisting with month end closing activities

Additionally you will have:

  • An understanding of a commercial sales organisation and key drivers of volume, gross revenue, and net revenue within an FMCG environment
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to changes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including partnering, influencing, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong EXCEL skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting
  • Full or near completion of the CA/CPA qualification
  • Previous accounting experience within FMCG highly desired
