Maintenance Supervisor - Mechanical

The opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the key responsibilities of the role include the supervision of the sites mechanical trades team and apprentices, to ensure the timely correction of defects and execution of the sites proactive, predictive and preventative maintenance program. The day-to-day co-ordination of maintenance activities for the site, including overseeing contractor compliance. The optimal utilisation of resources for all maintenance activities, whilst pursuing a structured program of continuous improvement and effective communication with all key contacts to help achieve strategic maintenance goals.

Additionally you will have:

  • Mechanical Trade and/or tertiary engineering qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience leading a trades team in a manufacturing/processing environment (ideally dairy)
  • Extensive experience within a complex food manufacturing environment (ideally dairy)
  • A strong commitment to responsible safety, quality and environmental management to ensure all work practices meet current regulations and codes of practice
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter with strong levels of drive, motivation and initiative, excellent time management and noteworthy experience in delivering outcomes
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, including the ability to develop effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent people management skills with a desire to coach and mentor your team
  • CMMS experience (experience in the use of MEX is highly desirable)
  • Technical and practical experience with dairy processing equipment (separators, heat exchangers, evaporators, dryers, packaging machines etc.) will be highly regarded. Bega provides a competitive hourly rate, certified training opportunities and a supportive team environment.
