Quality Officer - Port Melbourne
EBA Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Officer position supports the implementation, monitoring and improvement of site wide quality compliance programs.


Key responsibilities will include; QMP program coordination (sensory grading program for finished goods and intermediate yeast paste), management of analytical testing program (completion of some finished product testing, calibration and maintenance of testing equipment and operator proficiency testing) and the management of the Environmental Monitoring Program (coordination, compliance tracking and corrective action follow up on the microbiological testing program).


The Quality Officer will work under an enterprise bargaining agreement and may also support site initiatives and projects by providing knowledge and expertise, particularly around product analytical testing.

Additionally you will have:

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to changes
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Tertiary Qualification in Food Science, chemistry, or similar discipline or equivalent acquired experience.
  • Sound knowledge of food processing principals and concepts (preferred)
  • Some knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory requirements and food compliance (preferred)
  • Behaviours that are consistent with the Bega Cheese Values
