OHS Manager - Strathmerton
Strathmerton

Reporting to the Site Manager, the OHS Manager’s responsibility will be to positively influence site safety practices and behaviors on both a strategic and on an operational level. In this key role, the incumbent will develop OHS Strategies in collaboration with site leadership as well as provide on-going guidance, coaching and support to management and employees to ensure compliance with OHS policy and regulatory standards

Other key responsibilities will include:

 

  • To drive and continuously improve site safety systems to develop a safety culture driven by a strong understanding of leading edge behavioural safety programs
  • Lead high level risk assessments and incident investigations
  • Facilitate the ongoing development of a proactive and result orientated OHS committee by mentoring HSR’s and other committee members.
  • Drive OHS compliance training to ensure all employees have the skills to support a safe working culture
  • Monitor and implement where required Company standard Risk Management Processes (risk assessment, JSA) and manage site risk register and undertake all Corporate reporting
  • Continually review and focus on Lead KPI indicators as directed by the Group and implement further Lead indicators at a Site level as identified.
  • Actively support the reduction in Site Safety incidents and issues in line with yearly targets
  • Deliver the Corporate Safety Strategies, and develop and deliver the Site Specific Safety Strategies. Success measured using agreed targets.
  • Tertiary qualified (or equivalent functional expertise) in a management or OHS discipline
  • Functional expertise to enable the application and monitoring of leading edge OH&S systems/practices
