Maintenance Fitter

Opportunities currently exist for self-motivated, qualified Maintenance Fitters to join our Maintenance Team based in Strathmerton with permanent and 6-month limited tenure positions available. The purpose of these roles is to provide mechanical trade support as part of the site maintenance team on a rotating shift basis. The roles will provide you with the opportunity to utilise your mechanical skill and knowledge to strongly contribute to functional and site schedules, goals, and objectives.


To be successful in this role

The roles involve constant interaction and relationship building with fellow team members and internal customers and will also be expected to undertake duties in a manner that continues to positively develop and enhance these relationships. You will need the relevant trade qualifications, experience in FMCG, food and dairy manufacturing will be highly regarded.


Key Responsibilities and Accountability;

  • Timely and skilled mechanical support and coverage of the site and farm
  • Undertake your mechanical duties with diligence and skill in a professional and prompt manner to minimise risk to planned production schedules or process availability
  • Daily input of information relating to tasks into the computerised maintenance management system. Reports and recommendations as required or requested
  • Team meeting attendee and contributor
  • Clear, effective, and timely communication to stakeholders
  • Cross function team participation in problem solving or continuous improvement
  • Active participation and contribution in planned work, work orders and breakdown response
  • Lead by example in role requirements, safety, quality, GMP and Bega values
  • Diligently follow and support the business units’ policies and procedures
  • You will be engaged on a roster based on site requirements and planned work
